Artist's Comments

This is a second shot of my first ventures into infrared. There is something sad about this headless boy, a sense of loneliness and being lost.

Infrared photography has fascinated me since I randomly picked up a book called 'Diary of a Ghosthunter', photography of Simon Marsden. At first glance the images are black and white, but upon closer inspection its more than that. I love the way different surfaces seem to merge, statues become alive against the backgrounds of plants and trees.

Cheers, I totally agree with you. It was lucky there was a lack of other stones in that area.

Nicely done! Marsden is my favorite photographer, and you definitely bring his work to mind!

Nice composition and choice of motif. DId you use an actual IR film or a modified DSLR, or was the infrared done in post?
:iconevilwavey:
thanks :)

It was taken with a factory standard nikon d50, i did a test using a tv remote and it picked up the ir light. I took the photo using a corkin IR lens filter. There was some post production in photoshop, but really just playing with exposure, contrast, etc.
